Remote Advertising Monetization Strategy Consultant

We are looking for an Advertising Monetization Strategy Consultant to help us create a solid framework and implementation strategy before we launch. This is a focused, high-impact expert consulting engagement - not a long-term hire. 1-2 strategic sessions (1-3 hours each) with potential for follow-up as needed.
We're building a platform that cares about people's spiritual health. Therefore, we need sustainable ad revenue to serve our community well. If you know how to balance those priorities, we'd love to work with you.
What We Need From You
Session 1: Discovery & Strategy Design (1-3 hours)
● Review our platform, user base projections, and current monetization thinking
● Identify best ad platform options (Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, programmatic, direct sales, etc.)
● Outline ad placement strategy (where ads appear without compromising experience)
● Define revenue model framework (CPM vs. CPC, ad frequency, targeting approach)
Sample Deliverables:
● Ad Monetization Strategy Deck covering:
● Recommended ad platform(s) and why
● Ad placement strategy (feed ads, banner ads, interstitials)
● Revenue projections based on user growth
● Implementation roadmap (what to build when)
● KPIs to track
Session 2: Implementation Planning & Q&A (1-3 hours)
● Walk through strategy deck with our team (CEO, CMO, CTO, Product Manager)
● Answer technical questions about ad platform integration
● Help us prioritize: What do we build for MVP vs. Phase 2?
● Provide implementation guidance (vendors, tools, team needs)
● Red-flag potential issues (user experience, brand alignment, technical constraints)
Deliverables: Implementation Roadmap:
● Week-by-week plan for ad platform setup
● Technical requirements for engineering team
● Key decisions we need to make now vs. later
● Risks and mitigation strategies
Future Exploration: Evaluate faith marketplace, premium spiritual tools, affiliate programs, and ministry partnerships.
What Success Looks Like
By End of Session 1:
● Clear recommendation on which ad frameworks and platform(s) to use and why
● Ad placement strategy that balances revenue + user experience
● Financial projections we can use for fundraising and planning
By End of Session 2:
● Our team knows exactly what to build, when, and how
● Engineering has a clear technical roadmap
● We have a framework for tracking ad performance (KPIs, dashboards)
Optional Follow-Up:
● 1-2 asynchronous Slack/email check-ins as we implement (paid hourly)
● Future consulting engagement if we want to expand monetization strategy
What You Bring:
● Total 8-10 + years experiences, with 5+ years focused in monetization, ads, or growth at a social platform, community app, or marketplace
● Deep digital advertising expertise—you've set up ad platforms, optimized CPMs, and driven revenue
● Proven track record advising or consulting on ad monetization strategy (not just executing someone else's plan)
● Strong analytical skills—you can project revenue based on user growth and ad performance benchmarks
● Experience with mobile/web ad platforms (AdMob, Meta Audience Network, programmatic ads, direct sales)
● Clear communicator—you can explain complex ad strategies to non-technical stakeholders
Bonus:
● Experience at community/social platforms
● Background in product management or growth
● Experience building ad strategies for apps with 10K-500K users
● Knowledge of faith-based or mission-driven monetization (balancing revenue + values)
● Faith background—understanding of Christian communities and values

● Consultative mindset—you listen, diagnose, and tailor recommendations to our needs
● Scrappy—you've worked with early-stage startups and know how to prioritize
Compensation & Growth: Contract hourly rate or flat project fee (to discuss)
Potential for future work: If this goes well, we may bring you back for: Ad platform optimization (post-launch), expanded monetization strategy (premium features, partnerships, marketplace), or an ongoing advisory role as we scale
