Remote Data Quality Engineer

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) seeks a Data Quality Engineer. At Habitat, we believe data drives everything we do – from fundraising, event planning, solicitation of volunteers, advocacy for safe and affordable housing, partnerships, and government/grant programs to engage, serve, and support our constituents. As such, we are looking for a Data Quality Engineer to join our team and help us ensure that the data we collect is of the highest quality. The ideal candidate will have experience working with data in a variety of formats, as well as experience developing and implementing quality assurance processes. The Data Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing test plans to ensure data accuracy and completeness, as well as identifying and resolving data quality issues. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining documentation of all quality assurance processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
**Develop standards for data quality and ensuring that these standards are followed throughout the organization (15%)
**Evaluate the quality of data received from data sources to ensure that it meets company standards (10%)
**Collaborate with other departments to establish procedures for data collection and analysis (15%)
**Create reports on data quality issues and recommend solutions to resolve or mitigate data quality problems (5%)
**Review data to identify patterns or trends that may indicate errors or inconsistencies (25%)
**Create and implement plans to improve data quality by identifying causes of errors or discrepancies and determining effective solutions (15%)
**Recommend new data collection methods or technologies as needed to improve the quality of data (5%)
**Consult with other departments to determine how new data standards will affect their operations (10%)
**Travel requirement: 5%
Note: % of time commitment will fluctuate based on the data lifecycle

Minimum Requirements:
**Education: bachelor’s degree (Technical Discipline)
**Years of Related Experience: 5+ years as Data Quality Engineer

Qualifications:
**Adept and proven practioner of the data quality dimensions
**Experience developing and implementing data quality control processes
**Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases and various file layout ats
**Proficient in Excel and data visualization tools, such as Tableau, PowerBI
**Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
**Strong data analysis acumen with attention to detail, and logical reasoning
**Effective communication skills to convey information clearly and to build positive relationships with others
**Experience working in a matrixed organization

Preferred – in addition to minimum:
**Working knowledge of Informatica Platform (Data Quality and Data Profiling service modules)
**Practical experience with Agile/Scrum (SAFe) methodology & as member of a Scrum team(s)
**Familiarity with data mining and machine learning techniques
**Knowledgeable of ASQ Body of Knowledge
**CQE certified

For work locations in the US, the salary range for this position is between $79,000 – $119,000 per year. The target hiring range for this position is $84,150 - $94,050 per year.

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance.
