Remote Social Media Specialist

📍 Remote

Social Media Specialist Skills and Intangibles 

YOUR DAY IN THE ROLE 
You would lead the execution of Desiring God's organic social media efforts across Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube by adapting content from our teaching and ensuring that everything we post reflects the theological clarity and Christian Hedonistic message that we herald. 
You'll also support copy needs as they arise, which may include website banner copy, email promos, donor communications, and more. 

WHO YOU ARE 
  • A social media native who intuitively understands how content performs on each platform.
  • A clear and thoughtful communicator who can write compelling posts, carousels, and help build out our short-form video initiative in a way that reflects our theological teaching.
  • An organized and detail-oriented person who is comfortable juggling multiple content streams across teams and deadlines.
  • Culture: 
    • Eager to devote your time, talents, and energies to bring DesiringGod.org's teaching to life with the best native experiences on our social channels.
    • Humbly authentic in heart posture, working with excellence alongside others.
    • Wise in balancing strategy with relative impact across a variety of mediums.
    • Treasuring and embodying the truths of a Christian Hedonist.

YOUR FUTURE TEAM 
  • You'd join the Digital Spreading team, which includes two other marketers.
  • You'd collaborate across departments, especially Editorial and Creative, to repurpose and amplify our content.
  • You'd play a key role in advancing our digital reach by aggressively sharing our teaching with great effectiveness on our social channels.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
  • Ability to adhere to our affirmation of faith.
  • Able to legally work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Desiring God is a hybrid workplace, preference for this role is local to Minneapolis, MN.
