Ascension Press is hiring a
Remote Video Editor

📍 Remote

The Video Editor will be responsible for the post-production (organizing, assembling, sequencing, and finishing video assets) of Ascension’s video-based projects and promotional materials. The Video Editor would be expected to take direction from project directors and managers, as well as offer their own creative input to each edit. Many video edits will require some level of motion graphics, sound design, and color grading. Occasional production days will require the employee to be on set operating camera/sound or DIT/data wrangling as part of a crew. The ideal candidate for the position has audio/video/graphic/color editing experience and is detail-oriented, reliable, friendly, highly collaborative, extremely organized, an excellent communicator, and familiar with Catholic teaching (for editing Catholic educational content).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize video assets acquired from filmings.
  • Gather stock assets (i.e. music, graphics, images, etc.).
  • Edit educational video content featuring A-roll, B-roll, stock video, graphics, and music.
  • Design and animate graphical elements (motion graphics, DVD menus, thumbnail images, etc.).
  • Export versions of edits for Ascension’s online platform, DVD production, and social media.
  • Color Grade.
  • Take direction/feedback and follow established style guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other editors.
  • Assist on set with camera/sound operation as needed.

Requirements
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Motion Graphics experience.
  • Ability to learn new systems and technical skills quickly.
  • Must be able to work on-site in the Exton, PA office for specific projects.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Occasional travel to Exton, PA, is required.
