Senior AI Researcher

Salary Range:
$100,000.00 To 120,000.00 Annually

SCOPE: As an AI Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in leading our AI research initiatives, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to revolutionize and optimize our translation processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Lead and drive AI research and development projects focused on enhancing and automating various aspects of Bible translation. 
  • Develop and implement innovative AI algorithms, models, and techniques to tackle complex language processing, semantic analysis, and translation quality assessment challenges.  
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including linguists, translators, software developers, and other researchers, to integrate AI solutions into our existing translation tools and platforms. 
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior researchers and team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment. 
  • Stay at the forefront of AI research, continually exploring emerging technologies and techniques, and identifying opportunities to leverage them for improving translation accuracy, efficiency, and impact. 
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of large-scale linguistic and translation datasets to extract meaningful insights, patterns, and trends. 
  • Share research findings in reputable conferences and journals, contributing to the broader academic and research community.
  • Actively participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and industry events to stay connected with the latest advancements in AI and foster partnerships and collaborations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • No supervision requirements.

OTHER DUTIES: 
  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes and policies.
  • Lead and or participate in projects or task force groups which focus on issues having organization-wide impact.
  • Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional or home office environment except when traveling.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional exertion up to 10 pounds, lifting a box of paper, moving chairs, tables and sliding doors. 

TRAVEL:
Able to travel both domestically and internationally up to 12 weeks per year.  

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; God honoring lifestyle.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field or relevant experience, Masters Degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in the AI field
  • Proven track record of successful AI research and development, preferably in the field of natural language processing, machine translation, or related areas.
  • Strong expertise in cutting-edge AI algorithms, models, and frameworks, such as deep learning, neural networks, sequence-to-sequence models, and reinforcement learning. 
  • In-depth understanding of linguistic principles, language structures, and translation theory, with the ability to bridge the gap between AI and the nuances of Bible translation. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring research teams, with a proven ability to drive projects from conception to implementation. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to overcome complex challenges in AI research. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Passion for the mission of Bible translation and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of language accessibility.
