Senior Project Manager

Position Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is a vital leadership role, responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successfulcompletion of diverse projects within a leading non- profit organization. This position requires strong leadership,communication, and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Develop comprehensive project plans that encompass project scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. This includes identifying and managing project interdependencies to ensure efficient workflow.
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, assigning responsibilities, setting clear expectations, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. This includes conducting regular team meetings, providing constructive feedback, and addressing any conflicts or challenges.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal departments,external partners, vendors, and donors. Effectively communicate project progress, updates, and potential issues to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts. Implement robust change control processes to manage scope creep effectively, ensuring that any project adjustments are carefully evaluated and approved.
- Oversee project budgets, track expenses, and ensure that projects are delivered within allocated financialconstraints. Provide regular financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting any variances or potential cost overruns.
- Ensure the implementation of established quality control measures to adhere to organizational guidelines and best practices.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve project management processes, methodologies, and tools, driving efficiency, effectiveness, and overall project success. Stay updated on industry best practices and emergingtrends in project management, incorporating relevant knowledge and techniques into daily operations.
Job Specifications
Study or Knowledge or Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, project management, or a related discipline) required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in managing high-risk projects.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing complex projects, applying recognized project management methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or PRINCE2. Experience with innovation, education, and research projects preferred.
- Possess a strong understanding of project management principles such as RACI, WBS and the like as well as additional processes and tools.
- Proficiency and deep experience in using a range of project management software, including scheduling,collaboration, and communication tools.
- Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and guide project teams, fostering a positive and productive workenvironment. Effective delegation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting principles. Experience in managing projectfinances and providing accurate and timely financial updates to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the non-profit sector and its specific challenges and opportunities is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to diverse audiences. Active listening skills and the capacity to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify potential problems, analyze root causes,and develop effective solutions.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and demonstratingresilience in the face of challenges.
- Experience using conference and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, Zoom etc.
- Strive to live a life consistent with biblical principles, engaged with the Bible on a consistent basis and demonstrate continued growth and spiritual development.
Internal Work Environment and Communication:
Engages with cross-functional teams and global ministry stakeholders through various communication channels, including email, Microsoft Teams, and WhatsApp. Effective communication requires cultural sensitivity, organizational awareness, discretion, and the ability to convey information clearly and concisely. Also responsible for delivering presentations to support collaboration and training initiatives.
External Communication:
Communicates with external stakeholders including ministry partners and contractors with appropriate professionalism and sensitivity.
Leadership Responsibility:
Delegated authority by the leadership team in Global Content to execute projects primarily for the Center for Bible Engagement, Artos Academy, and Bible Engagement initiatives. While reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Global Content, this position will routinely represent the other leaders on this team.
Stewardship of Resources:
Maintains awareness of the Global Content budgets and the factors influencing financial decisions to effectively manage project assets and risks. This role does not carry a separate, dedicated budget.
