To provide Samaritan Ministries International with data engineering services of designing and implementing data models while maintaining data fidelity and availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce code to clean the data and ensure the quality of data
  • Design processes for transferring data into existing data lake
  • Extract and combine data from various heterogeneous data sources
  • Analyze complex data sources and assist in the design of new data feeds
  • Liaise and coordinate with external data providers to determine how to integrate data into the existing environment and data model
  • Support software developers and data scientists on data initiatives, and ensure that the data delivery is consistent across the entire project
  • Support quantitative analysts and data scientists with data discovery and rapid assembly of large data sets from disparate sources
  • Use modern data tools to support products and services by solving data integration challenges
  • Architect, create, and maintain data ETL processes.
  • Monitor extract schedules and triggers.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce best practices with regards to data source-controlling, querying, and handling standards.
  • Contribute to data catalogs and dictionaries.
  • Assist data scientists and analysts with programming and automation needs.
  • Prepare and maintain architectures, data, and data models
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Master's Degree from an accredited university or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Microsoft SQL Relational Database Management System (MSSQL DBMS) (Advanced)
  • Data process creation and architecture (Intermediate)
  • Coaching practices for querying data (Advanced)
  • Git repository management (Advanced) and pull request oversight
  • Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) (Advanced)
  • Python (Intermediate)
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) (Intermediate)
 
Additional Information
  • Tasks are normally conducted in a regular office environment, requiring use of computer and mouse and other standard office equipment. Staff usually remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Staff will observe safety principles while performing the duties of the position.
