The Position


Church Media Squad is seeking Graphic Design Contractors to augment our Squad during periods of high workload. At Church Media Squad, we are committed to elevating church media by aiding local church ministries in graphic and video production, communication and social strategy, website development, and full-scale branding.

The selected Graphic Design Contractor will assist with the recurring graphic design requirements of Church Media Squad clients and handle daily interactions with these clients. The Graphic Design Contractor role is project-based, and is based on a project-to-project structure, with guaranteed availability of a minimum of 20 hours per week for a 10-week contract.

All Church Media Squad Squad members operate entirely remotely. Contractors should have their own equipment compatible with an Apple-only environment.


About Church Media Squad:


Church Media Squad is based out of Salt Lake City, UT. The state of Utah has the lowest percentage of Christians in the country, with the Salt Lake Valley having less than 5% who consider themselves part of the Christian faith. Our Founder’s goal and hope is to be part of God's transformative movement in the Salt Lake Valley by making our base of operations here and helping church plants in Salt Lake Valley.

Qualifications:

  • Contractors must have their own active Creative Cloud subscription.
  • Required proficiency with:
    • Photoshop - Expert
    • Illustrator - Intermediate to Expert
    • InDesign - Intermediate to Expert
  • Preference will be given to applicants with additional proficiency in:
    • Adobe Dimensions
    • C4D
    • Motion Graphics Software
  • Must submit a portfolio link with the application. Only portfolios containing the following project types will be considered:
    • Sermon Series Designs
    • Social Posts
    • Merch - T-Shirts, Stickers
    • Custom Illustration
    • Large Layout - Booklets of 4+ pages
    • Small Layout - Connect cards, Brochures
  • Familiarity with these tools is a plus but not a requirement: Slack.com, ClickUp.com, & Dropbox.com
  • We are particularly interested in applicants with experience working for a church. This firsthand experience enables us to serve better the church staff we collaborate with daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Minimum Commitment: At least 20 hours per week for a 10-week contract
  • Pay Structure: $25 per hour
  • Over-Time: Hours beyond the 20-hour commitment will be compensated at $25 per hour
  • Availability: Must be available during U.S. business hours
  • Financials: Guaranteed 20 hours of payment per week, regardless of workload. Time tracking must be done via ClickUp and Gusto
  • Availability within +/- 2 hours of Central Standard Time (CST) for client-facing responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with Squad Churches (our members) throughout the design process, encompassing drafts, revisions, and final file creation/delivery.
  • Maintain member communications via ClickUp channels, providing high-level customer support and care.
  • Stay in regular contact with the Squad via our company Slack.
  • Regular check-ins with your point of contact at Church Media Squad.

Other Details:

  • You will be reporting to an assigned point of contact.
  • Higher internet speeds are required for this contractor position.
  • This is a 1099 Contractor role. The pay structure is $25 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours of payment per week, regardless of workload. Hours beyond the 20-hour commitment will also be compensated at $25 per hour. Compensation is subject to periodic review and potential adjustments based on performance and experience.
  • Church Media Squad reviews compensation arrangements periodically and may offer project renewals or scope expansions.
