Remote Technical Delivery Manager, Salesforce

The Need
For 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are seeking a Technical Delivery Manager, Salesforce to manage the delivery of work aligned to the Salesforce platform, ranging from operational support, key enterprise systems and potential project agile boards.

The Technical Delivery Manager, Salesforce will partner closely with product owners/leads, solution architects and leadership to ensure efficient execution of team deliverables, facilitating the Scrum/Agile ceremonies and cadences and providing oversight and escalation where and when necessary to drive progress. This role will have supervisory responsibility of a team of Analysts and Vendor Support Staff that make up the core delivery and support team for the Salesforce platform.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Global Director, Salesforce and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
  • Coaching and Mentoring of staff to ensure Agile awareness, analyst and support best practices in alignment to department, business customers and organizational strategies.
  • Promote IJM practices of spiritual formation.
  • Supervisory oversight including annual review processes for reporting team.
  • Advocating for the personal and professional growth of the team.

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management
  • Requirements review using Agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming and sprint planning.
  • Oversee appropriate completion of Design recommendations as assigned in sprint planning.
  • Ensure System Configuration aligned to scrum team assigned stories.
  • Ensure Deployment activities assigned to scrum team within sprint and planned release cycles.
  • Ensure Knowledge Transfer, Support and Maintenance Rollout Plan with product owners, project managers and key stakeholders.
  • Report on key support KPIs, identifying opportunities along with Product Owners for system enhancements, as well as root cause resolution of high-recurrence issues.
  • Coordinate with Budget Owners to ensure delivery efforts, including vendor staffing arrangements, align to plan.

Training and Development
  • Onboarding of new Sprint team members.
  • Technical documentation library updated as assigned in sprint cycle.

Strategy & Knowledge Development & Implementation
  • Sprint team and leadership briefings.
  • Backlog management, partnering closely with Product Owners/Managers.
  • Delivery of planned sprint stories.
  • Scoping documentation and estimate delivery aligned to analysis or design stories.

Networking & Partnership
  • Vendor and platform review and recommendation.
  • System health and upgrade plan.
  • Inform and manage external development vendors, especially vendor support team responsible for tier 1 and 2 support activities.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with Product Owners, GTS Leadership, Project Managers and key business stakeholders.

Communication
  • Salesforce deployment and upgrade communications, including intake, development progress and deployment status.
  • Critical issue escalation and management.
  • Sprint communications to core team members and stakeholders.

General Tasks
  • Participate in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education, experience and certification.
  • 7-10 years of professional work experience.
  • 5+ years of work experience in SDLC, preferably using Agile methodology.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce Platform development, Salesforce Admin or higher certification preferred.
  • Scrum Master certification preferred.

Technical Competencies
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills leveraged within the Agile/Scrum framework.
  • Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), or understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices.
  • Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques.
  • Planning and problem solving with product owner(s) and delivery teams.

Non-Technical Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, analyze and explain complex and abstract problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple or competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
