Remote Social Media Manager III - Remote

PRIMARY PURPOSE 
The Social Media Manager shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. 
 
The Social Media Manager is a key member of the Digital Marketing team, inspiring and equipping everyday disciplemakers and attracting and engaging new community members through a variety of social media platforms. This strategic role manages our U.S. Navigators social media strategy and execution, including social advertising campaigns and short-form vertical video.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Marketing Strategy (5%)
  • Assist with setting Marketing department Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) to support The Navigators strategic plan.
  • Help translate Marketing objectives and target audience insights/digital behavior into recommendations for digital marketing strategy and execution.
  • Contribute in substantive and creative ways to Marketing strategy development, innovation brainstorming, and executional problem-solving.

Social Media Marketing Management (70%)
  • Social Strategy – Develop social media strategy to support The Navigators brand and Marketing OKRs, including platform-specific audience engagement and growth strategies.
  • Social Content – Create and curate engaging social content (ex. post copy, graphics, vertical video), optimizing for social platforms and target audiences, and collaborate with the Marketing Content team on content themes, creative strategy and production, and brand approvals.
  • Social Partnerships – Collaborate on multi-channel marketing opportunities incorporating social media tactics, as well as partner with other Navigators social content creators, ministry departments, vendors, and influencers on social content creation and social content cross-posting/sharing with national Navigators audiences.
  • Social Production – Manage social post/content production and execution for Navigators national-level accounts/profiles across a variety of social platforms (ex. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, TikTok, X, YouTube, etc.).
  • Social Ad Campaigns – Manage advertising across a variety of social platforms (ex. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), including strategy development, content coordination, ad production and execution, audience targeting, performance monitoring, testing and optimization, and reporting.
  • Social Community Support & Feedback – Manage social comment moderation and community support, as well as provide a strategic customer feedback loop for leadership by regularly reporting on actionable feedback/suggestions and shareable positive customer testimonials.
  • Internal Social Listening – Manage the monitoring of Navigators field ministry and business ministry social media accounts to surface ministry stories, prayer requests, events, resources, products, etc. to share with the larger Navigators social media community.
  • External Social Listening – Manage the monitoring of strategic brand keyword and hashtag searches across various social media platforms, reporting key observations and actionable insights to leadership and engaging directly with users/organizations when appropriate.
  • Social Analytics & Reporting – Manage the collection, organization, and analysis of social metrics across all social platforms, reporting performance and impact against predetermined objectives.
  • Social Platforms, Systems & Vendors – Manage all social media platforms and Navigators national-level social accounts/profiles and communities (ex. The Navigators Disciplemaking Network), as well as help manage social media management systems, services, and vendor relationships.

Marketing Project Coordination & Support (10%)
  • Partner with Marketing team members on OKR tactic execution, strategic campaigns project schedules, and content calendars.
  • Lead or assist with various Marketing projects and tasks, as needed, collaborating with other Marketing team members, Advancement and FSC MarCom teams, administrative departments, field ministries, marketing agencies/vendors, and freelancers.

Supervision and Leadership (10%)
  • Recruit, hire, manage, train, motivate, encourage, and develop direct reports.

Additional Responsibilities (5%)
  • Continue learning and growing professionally to achieve or exceed team objectives, keeping up to date with social media and digital marketing best practices and trends.
  • Attend and participate in various department and organization meetings, trainings, and activities as assigned.
  • Participate in Navigators’ on-site learning and development events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
  • Participate in annual processes, such as the organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver’s Authorization, and other releases as required.
  • Approve all timesheets for non-exempt direct reports.
  • Approve and monitor personal and direct reports’ Expense Reports as required.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
Spiritual: Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators. 

Experience: At least five years of proven work experience in social media marketing, including social strategy development, social content creation, social channel/account management, social advertising campaign management, and team management. Project management/coordination experience preferred.

Technical Knowledge & Skills: Proficient in major social media platforms (ex. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube, etc.), Meta Ads Manager, social media management tools, graphic design tools, video editing tools, and Google Docs/Sheets/Slides. Preferred experience with Basecamp or similar project management tools. Strong grasp of current digital marketing tools and strategies.

Communication & Leadership: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal & written, to create understanding and build strong working relationships required. 

Education: Bachelor’s degree or college coursework/equivalent experience required.

Compensation Range: $ 2025.00-3,167.31 bi-weekly
