Project Manager

Role purpose 
The purpose of this role is to support the Director of Finance, Risk, and Governance with:
  1. Finance, specified fund management, donor reporting and due diligence projects.
  2. Project lead on finance system changes and be a focal point on creation and implementation of a system which can effectively track our funding vs budgets and spending.
  3. To support the fundraising and global enablement programmes, which includes the development of systems and processes that ensure clarity in budget allocation and related spend per project and per donor (effective budget management, grant management and stewardship).

Key deliverables
• Overseeing projects relating to donors proposal and financial reporting
• Perform financial analyses to ensure that spending is aligned to budget and strategy
• Ensuring that our departmental and regional operational plans are supported by robust financial forecasts
• Ensuring that regional/departmental budgets and projects can be translated into attractive fundraising opportunities
• Setting up a robust system in place for effective tracking of incoming grants vs budgets and spending; ensuring spending is monitored against budgets to allow for efficient fundraising and accurate subsequent post grant reporting
• Ensuring that specified funds are allocated to the correct project and communicated to the relevant team on time
• Work closely with AI Financial Controller and Fund Development team to make specified funds are tracked, reconciled and allocated monthly
• Work closely with the AI Director of Finance and Financial Controller to improve operational budgeting and report tracking
• Provide financial information and support Fundraising Development team on fundraising proposal and managing Pipelines
• Performing due diligence on our spending and conduct research to evaluate impact across ministry
• Finance business partnering all Operational Heads of Departments and regions as required
• Take a leading role in finance and due diligence project system changes as delegated by the Director of Finance
• Play a leading role in the preparation, review and challenge of fundraising proposal costings and grant offerings
• Assisting departments in creating and managing forecasts and budgets for various projects
• Gathering and analysing data to identify areas for improvement and/or develop solutions to keep projects on budget and on time
• Implementing Finance and other system change management and ensuring stakeholders and teams are trained and adjusted to the new process
• Seek feedback from key stakeholders on key processes in Finance and other professional services areas for review and improvement
• Support the AI Director of Finance, Financial Controller & other COG members on ad hock projects
• Participating in the delivery of strategic finance project activities, including the co-ordination and production of agenda packs for meetings and monitoring meeting outcomes

Essential skills, experience & knowledge
• Recognised senior accounting (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or/and Business Analyst (BCS) qualification
• Experience managing Finance system transformation or implementation projects
• Combining strong knowledge of finance and accounting with project management experience,
• Excellent multitaskers and good attention to detail.
• Experience of project management in a finance environment
• High level of computer literacy with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Clear, concise report writing and verbal presentation skills – able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organisation and major donors
• Work to tight timelines in a fast-pace work environment
• Quickly and creatively solve problems, proactively overcoming any obstacles to the success of the project.
• Good knowledge of both Project Management techniques and methodologies

Desirable skills, experience & knowledge 
• Charity Sector experience is highly desirable
• A strong resonance with the ethos and aims of the HTB Group
