Art Director

About the Role

The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller who’s passionate, dedicated, and forward thinking. The Art Director will work under the guidance of the Creative Director to ensure concepts are on strategy and creative execution meets quality and brand standards. The ideal candidate has a solid background in graphic design, animation and video production. The Art Director must be an experienced leader with the ability to maximize the talent of in-house designers, video production crew and animators. This includes recruiting, managing, developing, and retaining talent. You will be a coach, an instructor, and a critic all at once. You’ll need to be fluent in all facets of the creative process, have knowledge of industry best practices, and be willing to take risks. You’ll be a working manager, providing art direction as well as handling video and design projects on your own. Leveraging your storytelling acumen, you will develop strategies and tactics to fulfill Pushpay’s video production, video editing, various graphic design and motion graphics content marketing needs for use across all customer touch points including events, website, social, mobile, and developing platforms along with non-owned channels, delivering engaging and performant content that drives the business.

To support these efforts, this role is accountable for establishing long-term goals and objectives, leading projects, the evaluation and continuous improvement of workflow processes, training, and development of the team and providing art direction and resources.

  • Compensation Range: $107,306 - $123,998

Compensation ranges are determined by role and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the pay range for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

What You'll Do
  • Understand our market, personas, value proposition and goals, and conceptualize new video and design content to support those goals, working with the Content team, Product Marketing Managers team, and the Segment Marketing Managers. 
  • Leverage our brand guidelines to provide creative leadership and art direction with respect to the look and style of the produced content for supporting teams.
  • Oversee the leadership and execution of design campaigns and video assets.
  • Manage the day to day operation of designers, video staff, and contractors.
  • Drive projects from concept through completion including pre-production planning, on-site production activities, and post production editing.
  • Manage a budget.
  • Manage stakeholder requests for video and digital content support.
  • Analyze performance of individual videos and channels to help determine direction.

What You'll Bring
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience supervising, inspiring, and training employees.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with a focus in Marketing, Communications or related studies.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills.
  • Attention to detail and superior commitment to quality.
  • A strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts
  • Deep knowledge of branding, tone and voice, layouts, graphic fundamentals and design, typography, animation, motion graphics, web/UX design, digital media, print production, video production (shoots), and video editing.
  • Ability to lead projects from concept to completion, doing the best work you can within the time and resourcing constraints.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Adobe suite including Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Demonstrated skill with video editing software platforms, specifically proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, and Cinema 4D.
  • Extensive knowledge of video production and equipment.
  • Knowledge of video analytics.
  • Experience using video hosting channels, particularly Vidyard and Wistia—livestreaming knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with consumer and B2B marketing a plus.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work with varying and changing needs.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate and carry camera equipment (up to 25lbs).
  • Portfolio of projects you have overseen and worked on.
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management tools like Brandfolder is a plus.
