Remote Data Integration + Insights Engineer (Part-Time)

Do you enjoy the challenge of turning scattered data into something useful, meaningful, and clear? Are you comfortable writing queries, building scripts, and navigating multiple systems—but motivated by how your work ultimately serves people, not just numbers? Practicing the Way is looking for a part-time Data Integration & Insights Engineer to help us steward our data well, so we can better support churches, small groups, and individuals following the way of Jesus.

About the Role
The Data Integration & Insights Engineer helps us connect and make sense of the many streams of data that support our mission. From our PostgreSQL-based platform and Planning Center to Salesforce, this role brings together information from across the organization to create a clearer picture of how people are engaging with the practices of Jesus and how we can serve them more intentionally.

Whether it’s writing a complex SQL query, automating a monthly report, or building a dashboard that helps a team know who to follow up with, your work will help ensure that every team has the right information at the right time to care well for people and make thoughtful decisions.

This role requires someone who’s both technically capable and collaborative —someone who can navigate APIs and data models, but also enjoys partnering with others to solve real problems. You’ll work closely with the Pathways, Church Formation, Invitation, and Generosity & Prayer teams to turn raw data into meaningful insights.

A mix of problem-solving, and attention to detail is essential. You’ll need to move between writing clean scripts, troubleshooting bugs, and translating technical output into something accessible and actionable. You’ll collaborate often with our Technology Lead and other team leads to build trustworthy systems, maintain data health, and bring clarity to the work we’re doing across the organization.

Compensation: Hourly, $40 - $70/hour based on experience and fit for the role
