Remote Web Development Administrator

📍 Remote

OneHope is committed to effectively utilizing digital resources to support the mission of engaging children and youth around the world with Scripture. The role of the Web Development Administrator is to support the work of the Technology, Product Development, and Digital Marketing teams in the creation, management, customization, and ongoing maintenance of the various websites and applications used in our ministry programs. This includes managing web environment design, deployment, development, analytics/tracking, and maintenance activities to ensure that the implementation of web content and designs are updated, backed up, and fully functional.

OneHope is looking for an individual with the experiences and interests needed to help successfully support our work in the area of digital ministry. Desired qualities include a propensity for working in digital environments, experience with web/app development, a strong desire to learn, ability to quickly assess and solve problems to meet evolving ministry needs, and an eagerness to help find effective solutions in this area of digital products and programs for ministry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ 
  • Maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of OneHope and faithfully upholds OneHope ministry in prayer
  • Support and Maintenance of Web/App Development
    • Maintains, updates backs up and troubleshoots digital ministry platforms
    • Reviews websites with internal clients, answering technical questions, documenting requested changes, and asking clarifying questions to ensure expectations are met
    • Monitors site traffic and performance and recommend changes in a site’s technical architecture to ensure that websites remain responsive and stable
    • Maintains related hardware and software, installs upgrades, and resolves system errors as they arise
    • Ensures websites are properly integrated with related computer systems and back-end processes
    • Documents website and application changes or change procedures
    • Sets up and maintains monitoring tools on web servers or websites
  • Development of New Digital Products/Programs
    • Serves as a technical consultant for project managers to evaluate the feasibility of digital solutions and generate ideas to achieve product/program outcomes
    • Assists with quality assurance of contractor work during development and implementation cycles
    • Collaborates with the Product Development team to execute and optimize design solutions
    • Collaborates with the Digital Marketing Group team to adapt design solutions for better marketing results
    • Collaborates with fundraising teams to create event landing pages or assist with the feasibility of certain structures in email or website experiences
    • Troubleshoots any web related aspects, products, or pages during the developmental phase
    • Assist with and recommend new optimizations or ideas for fundraising landing pages or implementation of fundraising elements on landing pages
    • Works with various stakeholders across the ministry to ensure that designs across all digital platforms are consistent with ministry goals
    • Assists with recruitment and evaluation of developers/contractors
    • Assists with collaboration and communication with developers/contractors
  • Support for Ministry Growth
    • Develops best practices for assessing and implementing digital strategies
    • Develops best practices for working with developers and partners in the area of digital ministry
    • Develops a documentation process to guide web/app development and maintenance
    • Trains others to publish in WordPress when necessary and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting
    • Researches and tests new technologies for use in web operations or other applications
    • Empower other departments and team members with the knowledge necessary to accomplish their goals.
  • Assists with administrative duties as needed, such as planning meetings, processing invoices, and completing reports.
  • Ministers to OneHope’s donor partners

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate well within a diverse linguistic and cultural demographic
  • Ability to serve internal and external clients and customers with excellence
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously and effectively
  • Self-directed and capable of creating processes for efficiency in workflow
  • Ability to work in a complex, innovative, and rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs & sharing tools (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.)
  • Experience with front-end website and app development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript), especially with CMS/CRM platforms
  • Familiarity with web services, database management, and internet protocols (TCP/IP, LDAP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS)
  • Knowledge of WordPress form plugins (Gravity Forms, Contact Form 7, Nina Forms)
  • Experience with website-related hardware and software (web hosting options, firewalls, intranets, domain name services, servers, version control technologies, etc.)
  • Experience implementing tags and third-party scripts for tracking (Google Analytics, Meta pixels, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft clarity etc.)
  • Proficiency in understanding and implementing design solutions from user interface prototypes (Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD) and design handoff documents
  • Ability to understand digital trends among children and youth
  • Integrity and a commitment to the mission and vision of OneHope

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, software engineering, network/information system design, or closely related field of study or equivalent experience

Preferred but not Required:

  • Knowledge of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics event creation (basic events, custom events, variables)
  • Basic knowledge of responsive design principles
  • Basic PHP knowledge when it comes to the WordPress infrastructure
  • Squarespace, Webflow, and Wix experience
  • Understanding of the user journey when it comes to the website
